Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Carmen Contadora ("Carmen," the "Service"), operated by Inventa AI Solutions ("Inventa," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Carmen Contadora is a personal financial management tool that helps individuals and couples track expenses, manage budgets, set savings goals, and receive AI-assisted financial insights. The Service is available via web application, Telegram bot, and other messaging platforms.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Carmen. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

4. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You agree to use a strong password and enable multi-factor authentication when available
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• You may not share your account with individuals outside your household

5. Household Accounts

Carmen supports shared household access for couples and families. When you invite another person to your household:

• Both members can view shared financial data
• Individual accounts remain private unless marked as shared
• Either member can remove themselves from the household at any time
• The household administrator can manage settings and permissions

Carmen uses artificial intelligence to assist with expense categorization, pattern recognition, and conversational interactions. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated suggestions may not always be accurate
• You should verify AI-categorized transactions before relying on them
• AI responses are not professional financial advice
• Carmen's AI learns your patterns to improve suggestions over time; you can reset this learning at any time

8. Third-Party Integrations

Bank Account Connections

When you connect bank accounts through Plaid (US) or Belvo (Mexico):

• You authorize Carmen to access your transaction and balance data
• Your bank credentials are handled exclusively by Plaid/Belvo; Carmen never sees or stores them
• You can disconnect accounts at any time through the Service
• Plaid and Belvo are subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies

AI Providers

Carmen uses OpenAI and/or Anthropic for AI processing. Your message text is sent to these providers for real-time processing. No personally identifiable financial data (account numbers, balances) is sent to AI providers.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use Carmen for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use the Service for commercial resale or data brokering
• Submit false or fraudulent financial information
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or access controls

10. Intellectual Property

Carmen Contadora, including its design, code, AI prompts, and documentation, is the property of Inventa AI Solutions. You retain ownership of your personal data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

11. Data Ownership and Portability

• Your financial data belongs to you
• You may export your data at any time in standard formats (CSV)
• You may delete your account and all associated data at any time
• Upon deletion request, all data is permanently removed within 30 days

12. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or security reasons. We will provide advance notice when possible.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inventa AI Solutions, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

15. Termination

• You may terminate your account at any time through the Service settings
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy (within 30 days)
• Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including Sections 6, 13, 14, and 16)

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Austin, Texas, except where prohibited by law.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
